In this episode, Harley Quinn has magic powers. Batman and Zatanna investigate and find out it was Brother Night. After they fight through his monsters, Brother Night offers to give him magic powers. Bats refuses and, in turn, Brother Night puts a spell on the Batmobile. Zatanna gets trapped inside and Batman goes to get help from Etrigan the Demon. He calls upon Merlin to transform a Gotham PD truck into his own demon car, but it blows up before Merlin can enchant it. Batman gets Zatanna free and the demon found a car. Zatanna teleports the cars back to Night’s lair. He disappears and Zatanna fixes the Batmobile. Zatanna offers Batman some ice cream before the Batmobile falls apart as he checks it out.

Another Justice League Dark episode that involves Batman. At this point, they should really just do a JLD spinoff. I enjoyed it and thought it was fun, but I wish they’d introduce more characters. One of the interesting parts of Justice League Unlimited was the variety of characters that they used. Zatanna has probably been on more episodes than 90% of the characters introduced so far. She’s certainly been on more than The Flash and I’m not even sure if Green Lantern has made an appearance. Moving on to Brother Night, he’s made more appearances than Joker and Lex Luthor. It’s kind of funny. I’m not sure if that was to promote the Direct-to-DVD animated film “Justice League Dark”.

I did enjoy Etrigan the Demon’s appearance. I’m not very familiar with him, but I thought he was funny. The possessed batmobile was interesting. I like the Batman/Zatanna team ups on this show, despite my earlier gripes. We never really saw Harley Quinn return to normal, which was odd. I would’ve liked a little tag scene with her and Batman. The ice cream thing was funny, but there were a few fun moments throughout the episode with them. I did like the episode and was another well written episode by Paul Dini. If this is the only way to get Dini to stay on an animated DC show, then make it as Justice League Dark as you want. Unfortunately, there are no episodes listed on TV Guide for the next 2 weeks. I’m not sure if they just haven’t posted them or if the show is going on another extended break. Either way, this has been one of my favorite shows of 2017 and I hope to see new episodes eventually.
